Staging/Live

Staging/Live is the concept of having separate preview and live servers running on different URLs and in completely separate databases thus allowing content approvals and test runs on new material.

During the history of Midgard, there were several different modes of handling this:

The first way to enable Staging/Live involved Repligard as well as a few Perl scripts
In versions 1.7 and (partially) 1.8, replications were handled by Exorcist
Since Midgard 1.8.3, replication is a built-in core feature (see Midgard Replicator), midcom.helper.replicator manages the MidCOM side
