MidCOM Watches

MidCOM Watchers are part of the MidCOM Database Abstraction Layer. They enable MidCOM Components or the MidCOM core to react to changes to any MgdSchema object. For example, midcom.helper.replicator will automatically be notified when objects are updated or deleted and will trigger replication. Watches are defined in the MidCOM Component Manifest.

In the future, they are set to be superseded by events directly implmented in the Midgard core. This is currently scheduled for version 1.9.
